Our new partnership provides Outschool educators with professional learning opportunities that are focused on improving virtual learning experiences for students.
We’re proud to announce a new partnership with Outschool, an innovative education platform that offers a variety of engaging, small-group classes online. Outschool matches kids ages 3-18 with passionate, experienced educators in a variety of subjects. Their live, small-group format encourages social interactions and builds learner friendships, creating a virtual experience where kids love learning.
Outschool also supports working parents and caregivers by ensuring their child can continue learning through engaging and unique supplemental experiences. For example, Outschool courses and camps include topics like mastering multiplication with Pokemon or studying the history that inspired an animated movie like Brave.
However, fostering engagement in a virtual environment requires a certain level of creativity. To help support Outschool educators, Logitech has created a free five-part professional learning series, Logitech Teacher Studio: Best Practices for Teaching in a Tech Enabled Space. This series covers the resources and best practices educators need to effectively deliver online lesson plans and promote student success in virtual environments.
During this crucial time where information technology decision makers are increasing their investments in edtech and parents are spending more on technology, Logitech and Outschool’s partnership aims to empower teachers to utilize essential tools and new forms of teaching to their fullest extent. Together, we are supporting educators during the widespread popularization of tech-enhanced learning.
“The use of technology in teaching and learning is on the rise and we want to equip educators with best practices to reach their full potential,” said Madeleine Mortimore, Lead Researcher at Logitech for Education. “We are excited to be partnering with Outschool to help educators develop the tech skills needed to enhance lesson plans with the goal of advancing creativity, agency and success in the classroom, wherever that may be.”
In order to help educators enhance virtual learning experiences for students, the Logitech Teacher Studio features educators from a variety of backgrounds and covers need-to-know information for engaging children virtually. The modules include best practices to implement before, during and after lessons, such as:
- Audio and lighting tips to enhance connection with students
- Visual, framing and background guidance
- Benefits of rehearsing transitions
- Being mindful of body language
Amy Jenkins, Head of Schools at Outschool, shared, “We are excited to partner with Logitech to create the Teacher Studio, a 5-part video series. In these videos, Logitech and Outschool will offer teachers tips & tricks to optimize their online teaching content and enhance the overall virtual classroom experience. This partnership is an excellent opportunity for our team at Outschool to support our 10,000+ teachers with great resources to increase student engagement.”
The Logitech Teacher Studio will be available for free to registered Outschool educators beginning September 21, 2021.
