We couldn’t be more excited about the debut of the Quad Gods documentary. It premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival in NYC last month and will be streaming on HBO-MAX on July 19th for everyone to watch.
Quad Gods follows the lives of a group of New Yorkers with quadriplegia who meet in a neuro-rehabilitation lab at Mount Sinai Hospital and create the world’s first all-quadriplegic Esports team.
This film chronicles the inspiring journey of Richard, Blake, and Prentice—the world’s first all-quadriplegic e-sports team. As they navigate life in New York City, challenge ableism, and relentlessly pursue their aspirations as athletes, the team faces numerous challenges that they bravely overcome. It provides a unique look into gaming and disability, challenging assumptions and spotlighting the restorative power of resilience, passion, and gaming.
The Quad Gods organization was founded to integrate and highlight gamers with disabilities as serious esports competitors. They have become a key partner in developing Logitech G’s Adaptive Esports Tournament and using the Adaptive Gaming Kit in competition to enhance the team’s competitiveness, enabling them to compete with some of the best players in the world.
Working with the quad gods, David Putrino, PhD, PT, Director of Rehabilitation Innovation for the Mount Sinai Health System, and others has helped us advance our goal of enabling play for all.
The documentary debuts on HBO-MAX on July 10 at 9 PM.
