Did you know a vertical mouse relieves strain in the forearm by putting your hand in a more natural handshake position? Or that 5-10 minute breaks every hour can boost creativity, improve concentration, and reduce stress?
Small adjustments can make a big difference when it comes to workplace wellbeing. For many of us, wellbeing is still associated with activities outside of work – running, eating healthy, or practicing yoga. But the reality is most of us will spend 82,000 hours of our lives working, often in stretches of eight hours a day, so small ergonomic changes during the workday can have a significant impact on how we feel both at work and beyond.
October marks Logitech’s International Wellbeing Month, a time to highlight the importance of workplace wellbeing and offer practical, science-driven tips to optimize ergonomics and comfort at the desk.
Maximize Comfort with the Logitech Ergo Series
The Logitech Ergo Series is developed and tested with the Logi Ergo Lab, an in-house lab based in Lausanne, Switzerland. The Logi Ergo Lab has the dual role of curating scientific knowledge and guidelines around ergonomics and wellbeing, and measuring the physiological impact of our peripherals on the human body.
For example, a vertical mouse not only relieves strain in the forearm, but also rolls your wrist off the table to relieve pressure on the sensitive area of the underside of your wrist.

Ergonomic keyboards provide additional support with cushioned palm rests. Even a shorter keyboard provides ergonomic benefits by putting your shoulders and elbows in a more natural position.

These products aren’t just about making you more comfortable — they’re about supporting long-term wellbeing, helping you work better and feel better throughout the day.
Quick and Easy Tips to Boost Wellbeing
In addition to the right tools, small adjustments to your daily routine can further enhance your comfort and wellbeing throughout the day:
- Take breaks. Take a short 5-10 minute break every hour, preferably away from your screen. Chat with a colleague, grab a glass of water, or have a healthy snack. These small breaks help your body stay active and give your mind the rest it needs to boost creativity, concentration, and reduce stress.
- Adjust your screen height. Make sure your screen is an arm’s length away, with the top third of the screen at eye level. If you use a laptop, elevate the screen using a stand or even a pile of books, and pair it with an external mouse and keyboard. This adjustment reduces neck and shoulder strain, keeping you comfortable throughout the day.
- Maintain proper posture. Position your elbows, hips, knees, and ankles at about a 90-degree angle. This posture helps reduce muscle tension and promotes better circulation, making long hours at the desk much more manageable.
At Logitech, we understand that making ergonomic changes can feel overwhelming, and everyone’s needs are unique. Start small by trying the tips or products that seem most beneficial for you and gradually build on those changes. Because when you feel better, you do better — both at work and beyond.
