This year has seen significant progress in supporting women in traditional sports and esports. This achievement is largely due to the dedication of advocates for women’s esports and more inclusive industry, the trailblazing efforts of women athletes who are paving the way for future generations, and their expanding global fan bases. These strides are driven by passionate fandoms, industry advocates, and, above all, the hard work of women athletes, shaping the future for women competitors worldwide.
This momentum showcases the transformative power of inclusivity, proving that a rising tide truly lifts all boats. This growth of women’s esports competitions continues to push the boundaries of human performance, creating opportunities for new breakout stars.
At Logitech G, we believe in the power of play, and gaming should be for everyone. Anyone with the skills, dedication, and passion to go pro should have the opportunity to succeed. To make that happen, we know it is essential to actively promote DEI and do our part to support women’s professional esports players. We proudly partner with several top women’s teams in Counter-Strike, VALORANT, and League of Legends.
Building on this commitment, Logitech G is bringing the Pro Alliance Lounge, first introduced at IEM Cologne 2024, to the forefront of women’s Counter-Strike competition: the ESL Impact Circuit.
From November 22nd to 24th, the best women Counter-Strike players will compete in the ESL Impact Season 6 Global Finals at DreamHack Stockholm, the newest addition to the global digital culture festival from our partners at ESL FACEIT Group.
In the Pro Alliance Lounge, Logitech G and Lero ESRL, are hosting a dedicated women’s esports performance study, to expand the industry’s knowledge base and better inform the design of PRO Series products to meet the unique needs of women esports athletes. Athletes will participate in biomechanical and cognitive studies, to further our understanding of the unique qualities that make esports athletes so good at what they do. This research directly feeds into our product development cycle, a process called Design by Collaboration and will provide valuable insights for the players about their performance.
Supporting Players with Science and Recovery
International competitions demand grueling schedules, with players balancing high-stakes matches alongside team and individual practice. Restoring focus and recovering from competition’s mental and physical toll is essential for peak performance. To support this, we’ve enhanced the Pro Alliance Lounge, incorporating insights gained at IEM Cologne to provide the ultimate recovery space for athletes.
Our partner, Adamas Esports, will once again be on-site to deliver tailored support. Their programs include performance-coach-led exercises to regain focus and a relaxing environment for athletes to recharge during downtime.
“Logitech G approaches working with esports athletes as a true partnership,” said Cary Lambert, Global Brand Manager for PRO Series at Logitech G. “We’re committed to holistic athlete support, offering performance education alongside tools designed for elite play. By collaborating with hundreds of esports pros to create PRO Series products tailored to their exacting needs, we aim to unlock the full potential of elite esports athletes. Providing on-site support at ESL Impact is an essential part of our mission to champion women in esports.”
Bridging the Gap in Women’s Esports
The women’s esports scene has grown steadily, driven by industry investments and greater visibility. However, like traditional sports, women’s esports still lag behind men’s circuits regarding resources and revenue generation. Logitech G is committed to making esports a great equalizer and fostering the inclusion of women in its continued growth.
As part of this mission, we’re addressing a critical gap in esports research: fewer than 10% of participants in esports-focused studies are women. This imbalance skews findings and limits the industry’s understanding of performance differences between male and female athletes.
“It’s inspiring to collaborate with Logitech G to study women esports athletes,” said Professor Mark Campbell, Director of the Lero Esports Science Research Lab. “We’re breaking new ground in esports science, and the insights gained from studying women athletes are vital to advancing our understanding of performance across all of esports.”
A Unique Initiative for Global Impact
Esports’ global nature presents logistical challenges, with teams often spread worldwide, regrouping only briefly for tournaments. The Pro Alliance Lounge addresses this complexity by providing a centralized space at major competitions, offering support when players need it most.
We’re excited to host the competing teams at the Pro Alliance Lounge this weekend and continue pushing the boundaries of digital sports. May the best team win! To follow the action, please visit https://www.twitch.tv/eslcs_gg or join us on Instagram.
